The Process:

I have to admit it, I am not a huge fan of planning and thumbnails,
Although I do use these techniques, I tend to make the first version and sometimes retouch or “remaster” them when I see fit. Making art on-the-spot proves to be easier for me, as I'm not setting myself any expectations but instead letting my mind take control of the piece.
When I approach any digital media, I think about what my intentions are and I ask myself questions like; Is this a piece for fun? Is it for a certain client? Is there a certain style? Is this a quick sketch? Or am I going all in? Using different brushes on Procreate, it has allowed me to express a piece in different ways.
However, when I approach traditional methods, I tend to stick with acrylic paints, a bamboo brush and ink, or even markers.
I. LOVE. REFERENCES.
Whether it’s finding a specific pose or a type of garment for a character, I love scouring the web and even using in-person models and objects, to find references that will help garner my piece to a more life-like feel. They also help me practice my art as well!
I think visuals and story-telling go hand and hand. I sometimes think of my pieces like a story, what are the characters? how are they interacting? what do they say to each other? I have always had a niche for creative writing since I was in elementary school. (My first story was about a princess and a squirrel) I love using my writing hobbies to bring my stories to life! Or to create stories with pre-existing characters in my artworks

Lastly, I love using color in my work! Whether it's black and white, or a full-on rainbow pastel palette, colors play a huge role in my art. Color can describe a mood, can create symbolism or even showcase certain objects.
